Pilgrimage: Iona

Bishop Joseph Toal of Motherwell led us on the National Pilgrimage to Iona at the 17th and 18th May, and we were blessed with wonderful weather. 50 pilgrims from throughout Scotland came together and enjoyed two days in Oban and Iona.

On Saturday we had a day of celebration, as two of our number, Jim and Anne Campbell were celebrating their Golden Wedding, and as they had honeymooned in Oban, it was an appropriate setting for the occasion. We had Mass in Oban Cathedral, and Bishop Toal gave Jim and Anne a blessing to mark their anniversary.

We travelled through Mull to Iona on Sunday, and had Mass in St Michael's Chapel, celebrated by Bishop Toal, and the pilgrims enjoyed exploring St Columba's island in the sunshine.
